Roller garage doors,
opened from the car.
Secureroll roller doors, made to order in the UK by Aluroll, with Somfy remote control as standard. An insulated aluminium curtain rolls up into a box above the opening, so there’s no heavy door to lift, and nothing outside to force. Measured, fitted and serviced by Admiral across Suffolk and Essex. See what sets the price.
- Remote control as standard
- Insulated, foam-filled slats
- Classic door: Secured by Design

Single or double, any of 20 colours. See your door.
Choose the garage, the door and a colour, and ask for a quote: we’ll note it. Every door is made to measure for its opening, so nothing comes off the shelf.
Classic
- The usual choice: 77 mm insulated slats, for openings up to 5.5 m wide.
- Secured by Design, the police-backed standard.
Compact
- Narrower 55 mm slats that roll into a box just 205 mm deep, for garages with little room above the opening.
- For openings up to 3 m wide.
The drawing shows the layout, not your garage, and colours on screen are only a guide.
What’s in the door, and why it matters.
Aluroll built its name on security shutters for banks and government buildings, and Secureroll doors use the same ideas. Every door has:
- Insulated slats: twin-walled aluminium with a polyurethane foam core, for warmth and quiet.
- Nothing to force: no handles or locks on the outside.
- Anti-lift locks: the curtain is locked to its steel barrel, so it can’t be prised up from below.
- Strong guides: extruded aluminium channels that hold the curtain against attack from the side, with brushes for quieter running and fewer draughts.
- A safety edge: sensors in the bottom slat feel an obstruction and send the door back up.
- A safety brake where the door needs one, to stop it dropping if the motor ever fails, and a rubber weather seal along the bottom.
Classic or Compact? Side by side.
Both are made to measure, insulated, remote controlled and locked against lifting. The Classic suits most garages; the Compact is for openings with little room above them. We’ll measure and advise at your survey.

For a real woodgrain, the Classic comes in wood laminates such as golden oak, Irish oak and rosewood, on doors fitted inside the garage, for a surcharge. The box and guides can be powder coated in other RAL or BS colours too, to match your windows, also for a surcharge. RAL and BS references are the nearest standard colour, and the screen is only a guide.
Three ways to fit it, one right for your garage.
It depends on the door, its size, the wall and how much room there is above the opening. Our surveyors measure it all and recommend the fit, for flat or pitched roofs, with or without gable ends.
- The usual way
On the inside face
The box and guides go on the inside of the wall, behind the opening. You keep the full width and height to drive through, and it’s the most secure.
- Under the lintel
In the opening
When the inside face won’t do, the door sits within the opening. It needs room for the box inside the opening, not above it, so the Compact’s smaller box suits it best.
- Little headroom
On the outside face
If there’s no headroom inside, the box goes on the outside, above the opening. You’ll see the box, colour-matched to the door.
Opens from the car. Locks as it closes.
Somfy remote control comes as standard, with the safety and security features built in. Press a button and drive straight in.
- Two remotes
- Four-button key fobs with a rolling code: a new code each time, so it can’t be copied. We can add more.
- The control panel
- Inside the garage, with push buttons, a courtesy light that comes on as the door moves, and an alarm if anyone tries to force it.
- Holiday mode
- Lock the controls while you’re away, so nobody can open the door until you unlock it with your handset.
- Safe to use
- The safety edge sends the door back up if it touches anything, and a safety brake stops it dropping if the motor fails.
- In a power cut
- Open and close it by hand from inside with the winding handle, or add an outside override with a lockable cover.
- Extras
- Wireless wall switches, a keypad by the door, and control from your phone.
What a roller garage door costs, and why.
Every door is made to measure, so we price yours once we’ve measured the opening. You get one written price for the door and the fitting, to take away and think over. It’s made up of these choices:
- Classic or Compact
- The Classic for most garages, the Compact where there’s little room above the opening.
- The size of the opening
- Single or double, made to measure whatever its width and height.
- Colour
- All 20 standard colours cost the same. Wood laminates and other powder-coated colours cost more.
- How it’s fitted
- On the inside face, in the opening or on the outside, depending on your garage.
- Controls and extras
- Keypads, wall switches, phone control, vision slats and an outside override.

How much does a roller garage door cost?
Every door is made to measure, so it depends on the size, Classic or Compact, the colour, how it’s fitted and the controls you want. We survey for free and give you one written price for the door and the fitting. See what sets the price.
Classic or Compact?
The Classic, with 77 mm slats, suits most garages and openings up to 5.5 m wide, and it’s Secured by Design. The Compact’s 55 mm slats roll into a box just 205 mm deep, for openings up to 3 m wide where there’s little room above. Compare them.
Will it fit my garage?
Most likely. Roller doors suit permanent garages of most styles and ages, brick or timber-framed, with flat or pitched roofs, with or without gable ends. They roll up into a box above the opening, so nothing swings out onto the drive or runs along the garage ceiling.
Do I need power in the garage?
Yes: a motorised door needs a mains supply near the door. If your garage has none, say so in the quote, and we’ll talk it through at the survey.
What happens in a power cut?
You can open and close the door by hand from inside, with the winding handle. If you’ve no other way into the garage, add an outside manual override, which has a lockable cover.
Is it safe with children and pets?
The bottom slat has a safety edge: if the door touches anything as it closes, it goes back up. Where the door needs one, a safety brake stops it dropping if the motor ever fails, and the courtesy light comes on as it moves.
How secure is it?
There are no handles or locks outside to attack, anti-lift locks stop the curtain being forced up, strong aluminium guides hold its sides, and an alarm sounds if anyone tries. The Classic is Secured by Design and has been tested to STS 202 BR1, the level for casual or opportunist burglars.
Will it keep the garage warmer?
It helps. The slats are twin-walled aluminium filled with polyurethane foam (the Classic’s have a U-value of 1.5 W/m²K), the guides have brush seals, and a rubber seal runs along the bottom.
What’s the warranty?
Aluroll gives five years on Secureroll doors, and on their Somfy motors and controls, from delivery. It needs the door looked after and serviced as the instructions say, and it doesn’t cover doors fitted within two miles of the sea, so if you’re near the coast, ask us about it at your survey.
Can you repair or service our roller door?
Yes. A door that drags, a motor that’s stopped or a remote that’s lost: Admiral’s service engineer can help, years after the fit. Aluroll recommends regular servicing by your installer, and its warranty depends on a door being looked after as its instructions say. Book a service call.
How long does it take?
Aluroll makes each door to order, on an average lead time of ten working days, and we’ll give you a fitting date when you order.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. Finance through Novuna at 12.9% APR representative, from £500 to £25,000 over 1 to 10 years, or buy now, pay later at 14.9% APR. Finance is subject to status. Try the calculator.
