What makes it A-rated.

Two panes of glass sealed as one unit, a coating that turns warmth back into the room, and spacers that keep the edges warm.

  • A low-emissivity coating reflects heat back into the room, while daylight still warms it
  • Warm-edge spacers cut condensation and heat loss around the edges
  • Strong, thermally efficient uPVC or aluminium frames around it
  • Glass in partnership with Ecoglass, a family-owned glass specialist

U-values, in plain English.

The U-value says how much heat escapes through a window. The lower the number, the warmer the room and the lower the bills. Frames count as well as glass: it’s the whole window that’s rated.

  • 1.4 W/m²K or better: what replacement windows in England must reach (or energy rating Band B). Everything we offer meets or beats it.
  • 1.4 for extensions too: the same as a replacement. New homes may need better, depending on the design. Tell us early and we’ll quote to it.
  • Below 1.0: possible with triple glazing and advanced systems.

Glass for every room, and every reason.

We recommend glass for each room by the way it faces, the noise outside and how you use it. Tick what matters in the quote and we’ll bring the options to your survey.

How much does double glazing cost?

Every window is made to measure, so the price depends on the number of windows, their size and style, the frames and the glass. One of our own surveyors measures every opening for free, and you get a written quote to take away. Finance is available at 12.9% APR representative.

Double or triple glazing?

Double glazing gives excellent warmth, quiet and value, which is why most homes choose it. Triple glazing cuts heat loss further, for energy-conscious homes or exposed spots. We’ll compare both for your house at your survey.

What is a U-value?

A number for how much heat escapes through the whole window, frame and glass together. Lower is better: 1.4 or below is what replacement windows in England must reach, and triple glazing can get below 1.0.

Will new double glazing cut the noise?

It helps, and acoustic laminated glass helps most, with traffic rumble and sharper noise like aircraft. Where the original windows must stay, secondary glazing on the inside adds a lot of quiet.

Why is there condensation between my panes?

It usually means the seal of the unit has failed, so it no longer insulates properly. It’s one of the common signs that it’s time for new glazing; draughts, stiff opening and worn seals are the others.

We live in a listed building or a conservation area.

Secondary glazing fits inside your existing windows, so the original structure stays as it is: it’s the usual choice for listed homes. Flush casements and sliding sashes look like traditional timber, and your council decides what’s allowed in a conservation area. We’ll tell you what’s likely to suit at your survey.

Who will fit my windows?

One of our own surveyors measures every opening first, then Admiral’s long-serving fitting teams do the installation. Customers often name them in their reviews.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. Finance through Novuna at 12.9% APR representative, from £500 to £25,000 over 1 to 10 years, or buy now, pay later at 14.9% APR. Finance is subject to status. Try the calculator.
