uPVC
- Halo, REHAU or Kömmerling: classic looks and great value, with no painting, ever.
Slim aluminium
- Built from slimmer Smart and Origin systems than most aluminium French doors: more glass, less frame, in any RAL colour.
- Opening outwards keeps the room clear when the doors are open.
- Opening inwards suits Juliet balconies, upper floors, or a patio with no room for the doors to swing.
A guide to the layout, not a design, and the colours are only a guide. One colour outside and white inside is available too.
Most aluminium French doors aren’t that slim.
Ask for slim aluminium and you can get a lot more glass than uPVC gives you. These are the systems we build aluminium French doors from:
- Smart Visofold 1000: a slim bifold profile used as a French door, with clean, modern lines
- Smart Alitherm Heritage: a steel-look door with a 59 mm sightline and glazing bars
- Origin OF36+: a 36 mm sash, with steel-style glazing bars in Origin’s Soho style
- Over 150 RAL colours, two colours, textured finishes and marine-grade coatings
Made to measure, for old houses and new.
With the right colour, glass and layout, French doors suit anything from a cottage to a new build. You choose:
- Layout
- A pair of doors, with side panels, a toplight, or a heritage layout with glazing bars.
- Opening
- Both doors open fully, or open one for everyday use. Outwards, or inwards.
- Bars
- Georgian bars or midrails in uPVC; horizontal steel-look bars in aluminium.
- uPVC colours
- White, grey, black, rosewood, golden oak and more.
- Aluminium colours
- Any of over 150 RAL colours, one colour each side, or a textured matt finish.
- Glass
- A-rated double or triple glazing.
- Security
- Multi-point locking as standard, with PAS 24 upgrades.
- Hinges
- Precision-engineered hinges and gearing, for smooth opening for years.

Do both French doors open?
Yes. Open both for a wide opening to the garden, or just one for everyday use.
Can French doors open inwards?
Yes. They can open in or out, whichever suits your home. Inward opening is popular for Juliet balconies, upper floors, and anywhere opening outwards is restricted.
uPVC or aluminium?
uPVC is great value, low maintenance and suits traditional and modern homes. Our aluminium French doors have slim frames for more glass, in over 150 RAL colours.
Can I add side panels or a toplight?
Yes. Every set is made to measure and can have side panels, toplights, or a heritage layout with glazing bars.
Are French doors secure?
Yes. They’re reinforced and have multi-point locking as standard, with PAS 24 upgrades for extra protection.
Do you make steel-look French doors?
Yes. Smart’s Alitherm Heritage and Origin’s Soho style give the look of classic steel doors, with slim frames and glazing bars.
How much do French doors cost?
It depends on the frames, the size, any side panels or toplight, the bars, colour and glass. We measure for free and give you one written price for the doors and the fitting. Finance is available at 12.9% APR representative.
Who will fit my French doors?
Admiral’s long-serving fitters, who work only for Admiral, after we’ve measured the opening.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. Finance through Novuna at 12.9% APR representative, from £500 to £25,000 over 1 to 10 years, or buy now, pay later at 14.9% APR. Finance is subject to status. Try the calculator.
